Riding big wheels in Switzerland Frankly, because bigger is better

What do you do if you have a cold, it’s sunny outside and you feel like riding but you’re told not to and you know you shouldn’t? Well, the safe thing’s to take care of yourself and rest for a day or two. In the meantime, get the bike ready for the next time out on the trails. The 10 hour flight back from Brazil left me with a bit of a cold. These days it seems like I always get off the plane with something whenever I fly. It just doesn’t seem to be a healthy thing to be at 35000 something feet, sharing the same air with another 260 passengers for 10 hours or more. I wonder how the flight crew does this day in and day out. So, besides sleeping in today and drinking tea, I threw on a new Bronson tire on my front wheel.

On an Edge All Mountain rim, the Bronson tire measures 53mm across the tire casing and 56mm across the widest knobs. It’s a pretty square type of tire with its tall side knobs. Curious to see how much grip this tire is going to have. My plan’s to keep the mounted up front for the end of the summer, through our typically wetter fall and into winter to test it in snowy conditions as well. Stay tuned for some riding impressions.
