This week I got some sweet goodies from the great folks at Bikespeed - a Rotor 3D+ 2x9 crankset and the necessary 30mm bottom bracket with ceramic bearings. In addition I swapped the troublesome Niner Biocentric for a Bushnell Featherweight eccentric. After putting it all together last night, it was time to take it to the trails for a test. Well, the love for this bike is back. For the first time in a long time the Air 9 Carbon climbs silently. No creaks whatsoever, no slippage either, thanks to a Bushnell and a 45 cent aluminum shim. The Rotor stuff? Well, this is the forth Rotor crankset I own and the third with 30mm axle. Stunningly machined, smartly designed and fabulously stiff.
