About 29in.CH
29in.CH was born one night in August of 2010 in a brain blizzard whirling catchy “29er” domain names. A first flurry of domain names from Eritrea and Spain were luckily out of reach, when this little gem of a domain hit the author. 29in.CH as in “29 inch wheel” or “29er in Switzerland”, short, fitting and perfect. It was claimed the very same minute.
29in.CH is first and foremost a site about rolling through the beautiful, little country known as Switzerland on fat, 29 inch wheels. You’ll find ride reports with GPS tracks and photos, reviews about the big-wheeled bikes and gear owned and ridden by the author as well as anything else 29er related the author deems important enough to share.
29in.CH is not intended to be a heavy, full fledged blog. It’s a microblog running on the best of all microblogging platforms, the one and only Tumblr. A small beacon in the awesomely vast Tumblr universe, 29in.CH is carefully groomed to be minimally lightweight, free of distractions and refreshingly short in content.
29in.CH is bleeding edge, HTML5 and CSS3 heavy, JavaScript powered and therefore too advanced for yellowed web browsers. 29in.CH loves Chrome and so should you!
About the Author
29in.CH is owned, ruled and abused by collideous, a Swiss-born and US-skewed long time mountain biker who caught the MTB bug in the mid 80ies and has been riding on dirt ever since. He went from an 18 geared steel bike to a 27 geared titanium hardtail and ultimately kissed gears and suspensions good bye in 1999 out of fear that such mechanical complexities wouldn’t survive the Y2K bug. Since 2006 he’s hitting the trails on 29ers and would never phantom to ride under-sized wheels again. When he’s not blogging, he’s climbing through the Swiss Jura Mountains on a tang Niner singlespeed.
